Guy St Clair Pandemic Recovery Webinar - March 2021

Practical (and Idealistic) Steps for the Organization’s Information/Knowledge Leaders – Part Two of Guy St. Clair’s Set – Exclusive Soutron Global Webinar

Join Guy St. Clair, Former SLA President and Series Editor for Knowledge Services at De Gruyter Saur (Munich), for two 30-minute presentations about new opportunities the end of the COVID-19 pandemic will bring to information and knowledge professionals.

Well known to the Soutron Global team and its clients, Guy is often referred of as “the father of knowledge services.” In these presentations, Guy will talk about why knowledge services is the ideal methodology for fixing the sad state of affairs all organizations experience as they try to return to the “new normal.” In the talks, Guy will provide his own suggestions for information and knowledge workers that will give them the opportunity to demonstrate for managers and users alike the critical importance of knowledge sharing in the recovery process.

Guy will ask:

  1. When your employing organization moves into the post-pandemic stage, are you prepared and willing to be a leader in the management of the organization’s intellectual capital?
  2. What is your organization’s greatest challenge, in terms of its “knowledge culture?”
  3. Who is your organization’s “knowledge champion” and what is your relationship with that person?

All registrants will receive a digital copy of Guy St. Clair’s book – Knowledge Services: A Strategic Framework for the 21st Century Organization.

Richard Hulser Pandemic Recovery Webinar - Into The Unknown

Into the Unknown: Information Services in the Next Normal with Richard Hulser – Exclusive Soutron Global Webinar

A key new phrase is ‘the next normal’ as a strategy focus that is discussed by many of the large consulting groups (McKinsey, Boston Group, etc.). They talk about business in ‘the next normal’ as there will be no going back to whatever ‘normal’ was a year ago. What does that mean for information services and the professionals providing those services in their organizations? It’s a challenge to be sure. But it is also a tremendous opportunity as info pros already have the savvy skills to work effectively in a virtual environment using tools and services already in their toolkit [such as those provided by your company]. The world is finally catching up to how providing services virtually can be of tremendous value and info pros should be seen as an important element of success.

Many of the core points are drawn from the challenges of businesses of all types – and information services should certainly be part of the bigger picture. Tools and services that are already architected for the virtual environment have a big advantage to addressing such challenges.

Join Soutron Global and the 2020 John Cotton Dana award winner, Richard Hulser of Cybrarian Views, as he discusses information professionals and knowledge services in the “new normal”.
